I admit I haven’t been writing much lately. I’ve been spending lots of my free time and energy caught up in an uphill battle against corporations trying to profit off the current crisis at the expense of the people. But now, I got an idea. As an author, there is one more thing I can do: share free books with everyone who supports the good fight 🙂
The latest case I wanted to bring to your attention is that of Scandlines, a Danish-German ferryboat company, currently running a scam to steal from their customers.
Ferries between Germany and Denmark are running empty in an attempt to bypass the law and avoid refunding customers. And Scandlines is actively using the crisis and subsequent border closures to make a profit.
It’s all explained in this petition.
But before I talk about giveaways and free books, I want to make one thing clear: Continue reading
I recently shared that I extremely spontaneously decided to move to Denmark. And, as expected of a quick relocation, my last two days in Berlin were extremely hectic. Finishing packing and shipping stuff, selling and giving away furniture, repainting the flat, running around the city on different errands. But on top of all else, there was one more thing to take care of: I found out I still had four Kingdom of Ashes and one Men and Monsters paperbacks.
I had initially ordered all of them planning to run more Goodreads giveaways as I’ve done in the past. But then Goodreads changed the giveaway rules, and this was no longer possible. And so I stuffed them in a cupboard to wait for the time I find a way to run a giveaway or find interested bloggers, and I almost forgot about their existence until it was time to move.
But what was I going to do with the books? I couldn’t possibly take them with me; I didn’t have an extra molecule of space in my luggage. And there was no time to mail them around. And so, I came up with an idea: I would sign them and donate them to open phone booth libraries around the city. And so I spent half of a crazy day running around the city, dropping off books, but I hope it was worth it!
Read on to see how to get them in case you have trips to Berlin planned soon!

Now that Men and Monsters has been out for over a month, it’s time to start giving updates about Book 3!
The title changed multiple times during the writing process as the story itself evolved and previous titles no longer fit. But now that I’ve written a large part of the first draft and the plot is mostly finalized, I’ve finally come up with a title that works.
And the title is… Continue reading

To be honest, I wasn’t planning another Goodreads giveaways until the book’s one year anniversary. Then I thought that maaaaaybe in the super unlikely case that 4,000 or more people enter the giveaway, I should really do another one.

In the meantime, I’ve been working on the flashback chapters in Men and Monsters (the rest is mostly done). I hope you liked Tristan’s backstory in Kingdom of Ashes because a lot of similar stuff is coming up.
Oh, and remember that part in Kingdom of Ashes when Vlad says, “I saw the Vikings sow fear throughout Europe and joined their nightly raids“?
We get to see it. I was planning just a short scene but then got super inspired. I hope you like Vikings — unless I do some major cutting during editing, we are stuck with lots of vikingy stuff!
